Bookmark charity donate new books to school library

Pegasus Primary School has received a selection of free books for their school library.  The books were donated by Bookmark, a charity which was started in 2018 with the simple vision of wanting every child to read.  The school has a strong focus on the important of reading and in its latest Ofsted report, inspectors noted that there is a big focus on developing a love of reading. Pupils quickly learn to read.  The school library is an exciting place to visit, where pupils can look at a wide range of high-quality books or listen to stories.  Some Year 6 pupils from Pegasus also recently attended a writing workshop with CLL Wolves with children from other Summit Learning Trust schools.

Vanessa Wardle, Principal said:

“I want to say a huge thank you to Bookmark for donating these wonderful books for our school library.  Reading regularly opens doors to many different worlds and helps children become life-long independent learners.  At Pegasus we want all our children to become fluent, confident readers who are passionate about reading and we are delighted to have these new additions for children to borrow and take home.”
